Evening Fishing (4.18.13)

The other night James had an itch to go fishing, so after a quick dinner we loaded up and drove to American Falls. We hiked down to the river and tried a few spots without much luck. And then Fish & Game came and gave James a warning for using a bait and lure that weren't allowed in that area. I guess that's what happens when you don't read the sign posted, "Attention Anglers"...haha. Always an adventure, I tell ya! Even though the fish weren't biting, we had a great time enjoying the beautiful evening and exploring some new places.

Such a handsome fisherman...

Our best attempt at a group pic. ;)

Classic Emery face

Claire was not loving the rocky terrain, so I plopped her down with a sucker. Problem solved. :)

Just a few random gems in no particular order...
Man, this kid is cute!

Love my little ladies!

We like to send Dad silly pictures

Cuddling with Dad during General Conference

Dad giving all 3 girls a horsey ride.

Emery was wearing a pair of my boots on her feet, AND her hands...where did she come from?!? ;)

Avri likes to lay out her clothes like a person...

One day Emery wanted to wait for Avri to come home from the bus stop.

And that is what she was wearing.

Avri loves to watch the horses in the field behind our house.
Pay no attention to the filthy glass door!

Avri's school had an Open House yesterday. The whole fam got to visit her classroom, talk with her teacher, and see how much Avri has learned. There were several stations where she performed a different skill (addition/subtraction, reading, letter recognition, math sentences, etc). She did great, and her teacher had nothing but good things to say about how well Avri is learning and what a sweet girl she is.

Easter 2013

As usual we had a really fun Easter get together with the fam. We had our traditional hamburger fry, tons of yummy food, fun games (thanks Laura!) and some surprises from Easter Bunny Grandma.

Now that we live farther away we don't get to stay as long, but we packed in as much fun as we could in a few hours.

And now for the traditional Easter picture overload..... :)

Ohhh Claire. So hard to get a decent picture. She's either got a major underbite, she won't look at the camera, won't stay still, or she's doing something silly. In this one I told her to say "cheese" and this is what I got. Still adorable though!

The kids paired up and had to use a roll of toilet paper to wrap their cousin like the Easter Bunny.
(Taylor wrapped Liv, Aunt Laura & Aunt Linny helped Emmy and Sawyer, Jess wrapped Bridger, and Grace wrapped Ave with a little help from me.)

Grandma and Claire led the kids on the egg trail for some treats and toys. Claire was most excited about the trail of empty eggs as you can see! ;)

 Bubble guns!!

Me and Lin

This game was something like "Pop the Easter egg". You had a balloon tied to your ankle and had to try and pop other people's balloons (by stomping it with your foot) before you got yours popped. James won--so proud! ;)

Then it was time for kick ball!!

Don't we have cute cheerleaders?!?

Grandpa teasing the girls (surprise, surprise! ;))

Of course you cannot celebrate Easter without recognizing the wonderful gifts of the Savior's life, Atonement, and glorious Resurrection. We know He lives and are so grateful for His gospel.

We add our testimonies to those of The First Presidency:

"Of all the tests we face, none hurts more than the death of a loved one. Through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ all are delivered from death and all will rise in the resurrection. And by the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all may gain peace in this life, be washed clean from the sorrows of sin, and have hope of a glorious resurrection with the just.

At this Easter season we give our sure witness that Jesus is the Christ, the Redeemer of all mankind. Because of His atoning sacrifice, He stands as our Advocate and Savior. Though He was crucified, He rose triumphant from the tomb to our everlasting blessing and benefit."
