SLC

We were hoping to do something fun for Labor Day weekend...until we found out James had to work on Saturday and Monday. Bummer. BUT, then on Saturday he found out there had been a scheduling error, and the Pharmacy was actually closed on Monday! Yay! We hopped on Priceline and got a deal for a hotel room in SLC, and after Sacrament Meeting, we drove down to UT. We walked around Temple Square and got a tour of the Conference Center. I always love being on Temple Square, surrounded by the beauty and peace of the temple, and being reminded of the amazing faith, sacrifices, and work that went in to building it. That evening James took the older girls for a quick dip in the hotel pool, and then we settled in for a loooong night of five people in a king-sized bed. It was awesome! ;)

In the morning we grabbed a quick breakfast and headed down to Ikea. Love that store. The rest of the day was spent walking and shopping a bit, and James took the girls to the Children's floor of the Church History Museum, while I stayed with a napping Claire in the car.

On the drive down, I gave each of the girls a scavenger hunt of things they needed to do/see while we were in UT. If they completed them all, they got a special surprise. The list included things like spot 3 temples, hold the door open for someone, spot 3 animals, ride the TRAX etc... The girls earned their special prize which was a trip to Build-A-Bear. The girls were in heaven. I'm so glad we could have a little getaway!

It drives me crazy to have strangers take pictures...out of focus and Claire with eyes closed. :(
