4th of July

We had a really fun 4th of July! We started off the day at the parade with some friends. The girls got lots of candy and goodies and loved hanging out with our new neighbors the Ormonds. After the parade we went to lunch, and then home for naps for some (Claire....and James ;)) and playing for others. That evening we went to a BBQ at our neighbor/friend's the Wrights and had a great time and lots of yummy food! We headed out to get a spot for the fireworks and set up with what we thought would be an awesome spot! We lit off some fireworks, the kids played, we ate snacks, chatted, and waited. And waited. And waited....10:00 came and went, the wind picked up and we wondered if the fireworks got cancelled...but we knew if we left they would start!! So we waited. At about 11:00 we all finally decided to call it a night. The kids were tired and cold and had already retired to the cars to watch movies. We packed up and drove home and right as we pulled into our subdivision.....the fireworks started!!!!!!! We could not believe it!! The girls were asleep but James would not let us miss the show, so we turned around and headed back up by the fairgrounds. Claire and Ave woke up and got to watch most of the show with us.

So grateful for our wonderful country and those who have and still sacrifice so much to make it free!! God bless the USA!!

Looks and sounds like a fun Fourth. Glad you did catch some fireworks. That's what makes the Fourth, the Fourth!
