The girls love collecting rocks so I thought, why not have them paint some for a fun little activity...

Full House
We had quite the full house for about ten days in June. Jason & Nicole took a fun trip to San Francisco so the kids came and stayed with us. It was quite a difference going from three kids to seven!! I thought I was pretty well prepared for it...but I was in for a surprise! There were three extra trips to the grocery store and I was SOOOOO grateful that James had two days off that week to help!
Here's the run-down of what we did...Ward Activity at the park, Family Fun day at the park, kick ball, Church, another trip to the park, Ross Park, sprinklers, water balloon fight, games, and the kids had lots of fun play time together.

Our posse. We assigned everyone a "buddy" and were constantly taking a count to make sure we had everyone!
PhotoBooth fun...bahahaha!!!!

We had such a great weekend!!
Friday night we took the older girls to see Beauty and the Beast at the Playmill with lots of cousins and grandparents. (Thanks Mom for watching Claire!!) We ate dinner at a cute little diner, stopped by the candy shop, and enjoyed a great show. The girls loved it and loved meeting Belle and Beast. After the show Grandpa treated us to some yummy ice cream. Thank you Sherry for such an awesome night!!

Olivia, Avri, Grace, Emery, Sawyer making scary faces with the Beast.
Saturday morning was Grace and Olivia's baptism. Avri and Emery sang "When I Am Baptized" with Grace and Olivia as part of the program and they did such a great job. They sounded so sweet and the Spirit was so strong the whole morning. We are so proud of Grace and Olivia's decision to be baptized and we are grateful for their wonderful example. It was a beautiful day and we were happy to spend the afternoon with our family.
P.S. Do you like Avri's new favorite pose? ;)

Memorial Day Weekend
Oh how I love the weekends! It was so nice to spend the weekend together and not worry about anything but having fun! After lunch on Saturday, we headed downtown to check out the filming of the Food Network show, "The Great Food Truck Race". We got there toward the end of things, but there were still lots of camera crews and long lines. The girls weren't too interested in standing in line forever, so after a little while we walked around downtown and stopped at a couple stores. I scored a darling mirror for the girls' room at an antique shop!
On Sunday evening we took the girls to visit the Field of Heroes at a local high school. There is one white cross to represent every soldier who has died during the recent war. There were thousands!! It was neat to explain to the girls what it means to live in this great country and how important it is to be grateful for our service men and women who help protect our freedom.
Monday morning we met up with some neighbors at a fishing pond. The girls had so much fun and Avri and Emery both caught a fish! We had a picnic lunch and enjoyed a beautiful day!! On the way home we stopped at a playground and the girls played and explored to their heart's content.

Avri was soooo patient. She was so determined to catch a second fish, but just wasn't having any luck. When we were ready to leave she said, "Well I really wanted to catch my second fish, I tried really really hard!!" We were proud of her hard work and her good attitude! The picture of Emery is her reeling in her catch on the first cast!
Proof: I was there too, and Claire left this cute little piggy in her hair for a record amount of time!

I thought it would be fun to compare how much the girls have grown from their first day of school...
And here's the cute appreciation gift we gave their teachers:
