Easter 2013

As usual we had a really fun Easter get together with the fam. We had our traditional hamburger fry, tons of yummy food, fun games (thanks Laura!) and some surprises from Easter Bunny Grandma.

Now that we live farther away we don't get to stay as long, but we packed in as much fun as we could in a few hours.

And now for the traditional Easter picture overload..... :)

Ohhh Claire. So hard to get a decent picture. She's either got a major underbite, she won't look at the camera, won't stay still, or she's doing something silly. In this one I told her to say "cheese" and this is what I got. Still adorable though!

The kids paired up and had to use a roll of toilet paper to wrap their cousin like the Easter Bunny.
(Taylor wrapped Liv, Aunt Laura & Aunt Linny helped Emmy and Sawyer, Jess wrapped Bridger, and Grace wrapped Ave with a little help from me.)

Grandma and Claire led the kids on the egg trail for some treats and toys. Claire was most excited about the trail of empty eggs as you can see! ;)

 Bubble guns!!

This game was something like "Pop the Easter egg". You had a balloon tied to your ankle and had to try and pop other people's balloons (by stomping it with your foot) before you got yours popped. James won--so proud! ;)

Then it was time for kick ball!!

Don't we have cute cheerleaders?!?

Grandpa teasing the girls (surprise, surprise! ;))

Of course you cannot celebrate Easter without recognizing the wonderful gifts of the Savior's life, Atonement, and glorious Resurrection. We know He lives and are so grateful for His gospel.

We add our testimonies to those of The First Presidency:

"Of all the tests we face, none hurts more than the death of a loved one. Through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ all are delivered from death and all will rise in the resurrection. And by the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all may gain peace in this life, be washed clean from the sorrows of sin, and have hope of a glorious resurrection with the just.

At this Easter season we give our sure witness that Jesus is the Christ, the Redeemer of all mankind. Because of His atoning sacrifice, He stands as our Advocate and Savior. Though He was crucified, He rose triumphant from the tomb to our everlasting blessing and benefit."

*He asked for a volunteer with an iPhone so I threw my hand up and got to go up on stage! He did a trick with a balloon and my phone (and cracked a bunch of jokes the whole time) and then he had me inspect a 1 dollar bill, then abracadabra--he changed it into a 100 dollar bill!! He told me to put the 100 on top of my phone, put both in my left hand, and then go back to my seat and enjoy the rest of my night!! It was an amazing show and a fun date night with the Evans!

The other day James forgot his phone at home when he ran up to campus for a seminar. So imagine my surprise when I saw a text from his phone....But it was a certain adorable 6-year old who loooooves to text....

I was instructed I had to text her back, but only with words she could read. ;) I'm so glad to see my love of exclamation points has been passed on to Avri. :) I still get random texts from her every now and then, but lately she has been addressing me as "Bree"!! Haha!

Friday Night

Just a few photos from an exciting Friday night with our family... :)

First...homemade pizza. Then a trip to Costco where all three girls insist on being in the cart, out of the cart, in the cart, and out of the cart. Then we finished off the night with a stop for ice cream on the way home.

These two had to sit at their own table!

Took advantage of a nice-ish day, and headed to the park before dinner...

Although it looks like Avri is practically sliding off and miserable, she was actually on my lap and enjoying swinging with Mom.

Ohhh Emmy...she always has to have a turn in the baby swing. ;)

This girl just loves life.

Swinging with Dad. So cute.

A highlight to every trip to the park is when Dad gives the girls super under-dogs they call "Bucking Bulls". It's actually more of a charging bull act that James does. It's adorable and hilarious, and they beg him to do it, and then scream and laugh the whole time.

We are definitely looking forward to warmer days and more trips to the park!!
